The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation has concluded the written examination for the Junior Engineer and Second Engineer posts (Civil/ Mechanical & Electrical) on 02, 03, 08, and 09 March 2025. The BMC planned to fill up 690 vacant posts in the Engineer cadre of the City Engineer Department through this recruitment drive.
The JE written exam was held post-wise on the respective date. Candidates who appeared for the recruitment exam are now wondering about the result release date. The BMC JE result will be available on the official website of BMC, the candidates can check it through their roll number and password.

BMC has not released the JE recruitment exam official result date, however, as per reports, the candidates can expect the result in April 2025 because it can take a month for evaluation. However, before the results, the corporation will release the JE written exam answer key.

Candidates who appeared for the BMC JE written exam as per the post they have applied for can check the result once it is released on the official website in the following steps:
- You should go to the official website of the BMC mentioned above.Â
- Next, you should go to the bright opportunity section and click on the all job opportunities section.Â
- You will be directed to the recruitment page of BMC, here you can find the BMC JE Result download link, once the corporation activates it.Â
- Once you click the BMC JE Result link, you need to enter your roll number and password.
- Once the details are submitted, your BMC JE Result will appear on your screen in PDF format.
- You can find your name or roll number with the CTRL+F command easily in the PDF. You will find your name if you have cleared the exam.Â
Cut-Off MarksÂ
Candidates who applied for the BMC JE recruitment last year should know that corporations will shortlist candidates who score at least or more than qualifying marks, that is, cut-off marks. The cut-off marks are the minimum passing marks depending on several factors, such as the difficulty level of the exam, the number of candidates who appeared for the exam, categories, etc.
The corporation has conducted a 100-mark Multiple choice questions examination, candidates who score at least minimum marks will clear the examinations. The recruiting body will declare the cut-off along with the result, and as it can vary, the candidates can expect the following cut-off marks based on their category and past year’s trends:

Merit List
The BMC will release the common merit list of the candidates based on the secured marks in the written examination. The final merit list will be prepared based on the merit system where the reservation and others are applied to shortlist the candidates for the next stage.
If two or more candidates secured the same marks in the examinations, the placement of the candidates in the merit list will be based on the following criteria:
- Based on the Degree examination marks;
- If degree examination marks are equal, senior candidates will be ranked higher,
- If it is still equal, the order of candidates in the merit list will be determined based on the initial of the candidate’s last name.Â
What’s Next?Â
Candidates who cleared the BMC JE written examination and find their name in the merit list will be called for the interview, the next stage of the selection. The authority will assess the shortlisted candidate’s personality and technical knowledge through the interview.
The authority will release the interview dates and other information shortly after the result declaration. The shortlisted candidates for the interview should bring their original documents of education and other claims for document verification to confirm their appointment in the BMC.
Remember, if the shortlisted candidates do not provide the original documents, their names will be removed from the provisional selection list, which will be released later on the official website.
The BMC JE candidates who appeared for the written examinations should know the corporation will release the result soon in April 2025. But before that, they will release the answer key, so regularly visit the official channels to estimate the score.
